Vauxhall Welding Accreditation

 ATA - AOM009 Welding Certification
 
All technicians who undertake welding must hold a current AOM009 welding certification (BS welding certificates are acceptable until April 2014). A minimum of two* technicians must hold the current AOM 009 welding certification supplied via one of the following Vauxhall Approved suppliers:
 
  • Basic Welding Services Ltd,
  • Bodyshop Solutions,
  • R.P.M Welding Consultants Ltd,
  • Stanners.
 
Vauxhall Welding Accreditation Requirements
 
All Vauxhall Approved Bodyshops to have a minimum of two technicians holding current welding accreditation
 
To include BS Weld Testing mig / spot to IMI ATA-AOM 009
 
  • Boron HSS Awareness including mig braze test
  • Panel Bonding
  • Access to TIS2WEB check
  • GM Machines & GM Programme check
  • Welder Traceability check
What does this mean for your technicians? Quick answer is absolutely nothing.
 
What the testing covers:

  • Set up the MAG equipment including wire type, speed, gas type and flow
  •  Set up the MAG equipment including gun tip, nozzle and power
  • Prepare sheet metal appropriately
  • Visually test and assess the MAG welds for visual defects
  • Complete a vertical up MAG weld – Fillet & butt
  • Complete a overhead MAG weld – Fillet & butt
  • Carry out quality checks to all finished welds
  • Visually identify weld defects  
  • Use Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  •  Follow health and safety guidelines
